Garden Tours - Sleepy Cat Farm - Greenwich
Garden Tours - Sleepy Cat Farm - Greenwich
September 20, 2023 8:45 am - 2:30 pm
Sleepy Cat Farm
September 20th (Wednesday) - SLEEPY CAT FARM in Greenwich, CT (yes we are SHOUTING - we are so excited to offer this trip!) Join us for a private tour of this amazing 13 acre estate with gorgeous gardens, sculptures, buildings, water interests, orchard, vegetable garden and more. This trip is not to be missed! Almost always a sold out event when opened 2x a year through The Garden Conservancy Open days. There will be a considerable amount of walking on the 13 acres ~ down stairs and up some hills. If you are uncertain, feel free to reach out to Jennifer and ask questions as she has been on the property before. Everyone should wear good walking shoes. (Here is the website: http://www.sleepycatfarm.com/) And to top it off they have invited us to eat our lunch on their terrace! So please bring your bagged lunch - seating for 24 is available. If we have more than 24 sign-up we may ask a few people to bring a folding chairs. When: Sept 20th - arrive at 8:45am We will leave Old Town Hall promptly at 9am so please arrive a few minutes early so we can work out carpooling (we are limited to 12 cars so carpooling is a must - please don’t show up without preregistered with us). Return will be around 2-2:30pm. Please note if you can drive and how many people you can fit including you. (If there are people who have to leave early and can’t stay for lunch they can carpool together). Where: Sleepy Cat Farm - Greenwich (given the time of day it may take us a good 45 minutes to get there) Cost: $10 donation per person in cash - will donate it to The Garden Conservancy through Sleepy Cat Farm - also would be good to bring a couple of dollars to give to the carpooling driver for gas money. (Don’t forget to get cash!) Bring: water bottle and lunch ~ and cash as noted above.
RSVP on signup genius by Sept 14th. Signup here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C4FA5AC22ABF94-wgcjuly

Greenhouse Cutting Workshop with Jerre Dawson
Greenhouse Cutting Workshop with Jerre Dawson
September 27, 2023 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Comstock Community Center, 180 School Rd, Wilton, CT 06897, USA - Greenhouse
Hello everyone and welcome to a new year with the Wilton Garden Club and the Wilton Garden Club Greenhouse. The greenhouse is getting its preparatory clean up this month to create a pristine setting for growing plants. As we have done in the past several years, this year we will only be taking in cuttings. To help you take the best cuttings from your plants, I will be doing two cutting workshops at the end of September. You can bring your plants either day or just come to learn more about plant propagation. Then you can do your cuttings at home and then bring them to the Greenhouse to donate; or keep them yourself and grow them on for next year to use in your own containers.
